Ben Poole 04:05
Well Ben Poole is always much too shy and he takes a step back, take a step back. To increase the distance and keep him blind, And he won't reget that, won't reget that. He makes things simple and it all fits in the mold of casual conversation. Well who has a dream like that? Ben will never forget what he said. It echoes back and forth like a thumping drum. It's rolling 'cause it has nothing to hold it up. Yeah, Poole's thoughts all slide around and freely flow, oh. Nothing is solid here, nothing at all. You'll find him somewhere wearing a fine silk suit. And all his friends think, He's got potential but it stays tucked away, rarely used. His home is filled up right to the brim, with rivers oh. But Ben is too afraid, that if he drains it he'll grow cold, oh oh. Well back at his house Ben passes time, Imagining a fantasy, where he lives Somewhere else where he can fly, and forever see, where the rivers lead. I feel the rise, of waters rushing. Well who has a dream like that? Ben will never forget what he said. It echoes back and forth like a thumping drum. It's rolling because it has nothing to hold it up. Yeah, Poole's thoughts all slide around and freely flow, oh. Nothing is solid here, nothing at all. And Ben doesn't realize the fools called it quits. They drowned in their rivers; don't stand only swim. And they can complain, and excuse, and pretend. But it's he who can drain it to an ocean, a pool all his own.

Note to self, don't waste your time on never losing. Never wait, or it won't hold. Little things, largely proving to be, there for me. We always smile because we always find a good excuse. I live on a stolen sailboat, sailing far away. (I see) Only the thickest winds, dancing with the waves. (I need) One more breath at sea, don't take it away from me. The simple thing is I am free. I am free. Lunches sure did pass me by, nothing was too safe for me. Empty chairs were kept outside, and that was how they stayed, empty. The rain came down and watched me wait, for a rare case of awe. So rare in fact that when it came it had already worn off. But one lunch stayed to wait for me and the rain did watch me smile. A chair came inside and we all stayed dry for a while. She spoke calm but dangerously, shaking walls Had stayed so still for oh so long. She said "Boy don't hold your cards so, close to your heart." I wrote it down on a note, and as I left I tore the cards apart. I live on a stolen sailboat, sailing far away. (I see) Only the thickest winds, dancing with the waves. (I need) One more breath at sea, don't take it away from me. The simple thing is I am free. I am free. I walked with the pouring rain. We walked where we naturally would. Standing on the shore I prayed, for the ocean to to tell me that I should. Ever felt like there was something calling out to you? Well if you're never listening then you'll never have to. I never really listened but a note can change a life. The sea called out me, and with shouts through the storm, I replied. I live on a stolen sail boat, sailing far away. Only the thickest winds, dancing with the waves. I live on a stolen sailboat, sailing far away. (I see) Only the thickest winds, dancing with the waves. (I need) One more breath at sea, don't take it away from me. The simple thing is I am free. I am free. Note to self, don't waste your time on never losing.

To be Frank, I never wanted to be an average Joe. It’s not quite what I had in mind When I said I wanted to get up Walking up up the staircase When I fall it doesn’t feel like falling, It feels more like getting closer to the brink. Where I’ve always wanted to be, at least that’s what I think, I think. (Woah’s) Breakdown, or is he breaking it down? One step on a rickety merry-go-round. Spinning left, dizzy, teeter then fall down. Do it again, but hit record this time. How, does it feel to be wearing clown shoes? How, do you decide if you win or lose? Losing has proven to move, You down down the staircase. Oh When I fall it doesn’t feel like falling, It feels more like getting closer to the brink. Where I’ve always wanted to be, at least that’s what I think, I think. Your eyes, your smile, your face, Pack em up in a case just in case. You must face the dreaded place, That will take you up up the staircase. (Woah’s) *Change* This endless set of stairs, Really needs a carpet or something like it Everyone just stands and stares, They should really have something better to do. Fake sick and turn around, check check your watch, the watch that you just found, When you were watching the still ground, still hardly moving, how’d you get so lucky? Five down and five more to go that means you’ve done well but you’ll never know If you could have done it better, you should have made a bet or at least some goals. (everyone knows). Yeah everyone knows that no one scores when the net is not even there, of course. Lose force, get hoarse, four more days till the rider has to lose the horse. Get off the course, stop the race. Light from the doors, looking down from up up the staircase. Wait take a second to look around, is what you really want, what you have just found? I’ll never find the time to search through my mind and discover that the signs were something more than just wobbles and lines. Or not, I have all the time in the world, I’m saving up days till I can clear the daze. That subtle haze, that keeps little Hendrix from choosing one way. When I fall it doesn’t feel like falling, It feels more like getting closer to the brink. Where I’ve always wanted to be, at least that’s what I think, I think. (Add whoa’s in background) When I fall it doesn’t feel like falling, It feels more like getting closer to the brink. Where I’ve always wanted to be, at least that’s what I think, I think.

This fire is cold and lifeless, Not burnt out, but deep in sleep. You love to take your time in slowly, Taking that part of me that Loves to believe, that our greatest fears Are what keep us breathing. The air here has grown too thick, and that won’t change as long as I’m not leaving. Grab a ticket and say goodbye To the warm home, the warm things. I'll dream of warmer air. I’ll wake up, When I get there, for now I sleep. This fire is cold and lifeless, No amount of care will make it speak. The glow has faded slowly until it’s all but nothing. You love to take your time in slowly, Taking that part of me that Loves to believe, that our greatest fears Are what keep us breathing. Grab a ticket and say goodbye To the warm home, the warm things. I'll dream of warmer air. I’ll wake up, When I get there, for now I sleep.

Digging 03:29
To feel empty, to feel oh so light. To feel heavy, to feel oh so tired. To be sorry, to keep reminding yourself why. Too big a heart, or maybe it’s just throbbing from misuse. Too big a lie. to save your life, to climb such skying heights. I-I Could build wings to fly, but it’d be such a waste of time. Night, is all I ever see, nobody come and try saving me because It’s hopeless when I keep digging my feet, deeper in. Don’t save me. Don’t save me. Well isn’t this a turn? Just a week ago, I thought it all inside the palms of my hands. I could feel all the smiles coming around in song and dance. It was so easy, the way that it’s supposed to be, I believe But I lost it as soon as I first stumbled on serenity. Please. (I) Don’t leave me. (I can’t believe) How can this be? This isn’t me. This isn’t happening I keep, Trying to stop this from stopping me. But it’s too big a lie, to save your life, to climb such skying heights. I-I Could build wings to fly, but it’d be such a waste of time. Night, is all I ever see, nobody come and try saving me because It’s hopeless when I keep digging my feet, deeper and deeper in. Don’t save me. Don’t save me. To feel trapped, to feel oh so tight. To feel almost, to feel almost alright, but not quite. To be beat, to lose then to writhe in self-defeat. To being shattered pieces of a peaceful mind. Two lines write, themselves upon my eyes. Obstructed sight, the clarity of lies. There must be strife, and there must be a way to conquer these. And then to finally stand up and forget about disease. To finally try, to save your life, to climb such skying heights, I-I Could build wings to fly, never worry about time. Night, is all I ever see, nobody come and try saving me because I love the way the night, shines on wonder and mystery. Save me. Save me. I am digging.

Callous 03:10
One cannot replace their eyes. Would you dare to lose the rope you use to climb? And mountains take your breath away. Weather worsens with the rain. The scenery often stays much the same. The harness hands wrap round you tight. Like warm coals on winter, the end-year frigid night. And no chills accompany you on your ride. We make sure that you’re alright. Till all the shivers, all the tears, have completely left your spine. Their eyes have watched you since the start. And they have witnessed greater heights than where you are. Listen closely to their words, subtle warnings, gentle verse. Painting pathways through the canvas of the Earth. The harness hands wrap round you tight. Like warm coals on winter, the end-year frigid night. And no chills accompany you on your ride. We make sure that you’re alright. Till all the shivers, all the tears, have completely left your spine. When your callouses grow old. Fingers no longer shake. Feel desire to seize control. We’ll release you to the rain, And we’ll know you’re ready for, anything. The harness hands wrap round you tight. Like warm coals on winter, the end-year frigid night. And no chills accompany you on your ride. We make sure that you’re alright. Till all the shivers, all the tears, have completely left your spine.

Delusions 04:03
Your lips say you’re gonna fight, ‘Til you take it all. Your eyes say they’re not so sure, But you make the call. Jumping in record time to conclusions. If you don’t, hold tight, you’re going to lose them. So we’re here for the thousandth time, Your feet are about to cross the line. You might need a talk with your mind, All delusions. Take a step to make things right. Your heart is running from mine. I feel these things flow through me, Through delusions. Knock knock on the window pane, Your ears say they’re not the same. Since you stopped listening to them, All you hear is the silence say I’ll take you away, from these awful days. If that’s what you want, then just, get up and say. Take a tip, take a stop, and try, Make body whole. Take a breath, take a break, to dive, With more control. Take a tip, what is there to prove? Why strain so hard? Take a breath, what is there to lose? Don’t fall apart. Now you walk ever slowly again… When I come home, I see this house all alone. And I imagine if it was more crowded, Would it be emptier or fuller? I think it depends who’s invited. Your hands always shake at the window, they must be a Little shy, this is the thousandth time, I’ve said Put your feet through the front door, And relax your mind, you’re welcome inside, anytime. When I come home, I see this house all alone. And I imagine if it was more crowded, Would it be emptier or fuller? I think it depends who’s invited. So we’re here for the thousandth time, Your feet are about to cross the line, Breathe first and talk with your mind, We can do this. Take a step to make things right. Your heart is running with mine. We feel these things flow through us. No more, no more.

Lens 03:39
All these vacant stares and vacant smiles all say the same thing. Remember when they’d talk for hours about anything? And I don’t think you lost your love for me, It’s just hiding just beneath a tarnished, shaken lens. Would you find it right there for me, or leave me shaken? Could I ever say anything, or is silence just enough? To end, what never really began, guess that’s why there’s Nothing to be said. Make friends with this tarnished, shaken lens. The truth that will set me free, Is also locked up right next to me. And I just stare emptily, Cause it won’t say a word to me. And it draws things on all the walls, Then tells me I should keep away. And I have to swallow all the faults, But I can’t stand the aftertaste. It will stand with me, for days. That stagnancy may never change. And I try, oh yes I try, To take the lens right out my mind. But it’s stuck inside and I’m afraid, To yank such a fragile thing away. So I see, oh yes I see, Everything as tarnished. Shaken up and honest. Even as it lies to me. Well I’m done, messing with gravity. I’m falling down happily, and don’t feel bad This falling happens naturally. I have the largest smile, Singing the saddest songs. Can you relate? This is no exception. I don’t think you lost your love for me, It’s just hiding just beneath, hiding just beneath. Would you find it right there for me? Could I ever say anything, or is silence just enough? I have the largest smile, Singing the saddest songs. Now the truth doesn’t have to speak, I’m sure that time, has a key. And the drawings on the walls, Seem happy. All these vacant stares. Do you remember when? I don’t think you lost your love for me, It’s just hiding just beneath, a tarnished shaken lens.

“I’ll find a way to get by” Says a man, who just got cut from the line, Off the list for the third time. It’s just the way the world works son. I’d give you hope if I had some. Carve the child’s mind, to properly run. But if we didn’t have a choice, Why speak or even have a voice? Is there happiness in strained smiles, or dollar bills? It gives me chills, the cold of the coming of the wind, When will spring return again? Yeah, better luck next time. Can’t say I didn’t try. How come we always want to fly? But get knocked down. Oh, the world keeps spinnin’ me round and round, losing ground. Can we please live on the clouds? Well I gave it my best shot, You win some, you lose some sometimes. Maybe I was being too childish, Or maybe if I just didn’t hold back I’d Have shot a straight shot, not got knocked out. Surely shaky hands do so shout. Loud and heard and filling rooms, Hoping to be vacant soon. Yeah clear it out, keep clean keep calm. Rewrite the rising rearing wrongs. This time aim is right on point, But woah, a hero has been self-proclaimed. Here to save you from what you’re becoming. He carries you safely back to Earth. And you look up to him and say ‘I want to live on the clouds’ And he smiles and replies with nothing but a laugh. So you get, one last look, before you bite his arm. And his expression as he watches you fall away is, One of shock, one of confusion and of loss. Then you turn your head and savor the taste left in your mouth. And the air rushes by your ears and closed eyes. And it carries your voice, as you yell that you can fly. Oh, never has there been, any warmer Earthly wind. And there’s nothing left to do, but to savor, the life that you’re in.

Don't ask, don't ask for me. Some days I wake up before the sun. And as I lay there the enduring thought is how I miss the last one. Stay soon, stay long. Do it just once before it's over, over. Say two, say one Thing to turn this ending brighter, brighter. And it's all forgot. Memories slink away. And I'm supposed to not, Remember ever having anything. Don't answer, don't answer me. Some walls are built then collapse. We've all but forgotten about our promise to save the best for last. Don't wait, don't wait for me. No, I'm not coming back. Things were so much simpler, Now they complicate and crack. But tonight is a night for celebration, We all stay up and dress our best. No need for tact or reservation, I keep it all displayed on my chest. And the best part is that my former eyes, have not adapted. And the best part is that after every night, we don't forget what happened. Stay soon, stay long. Do it just once before it's over, over. Say two, say one Thing to turn this ending brighter, brighter. Morning makes me more memories. Laying light lilies left lingering. Ask answer wait. The classic take. The thoughts that think they're the therapy. And it's all forgot. Memories slink away. And I'm supposed to not, Remember ever having anything.
